The Income Tracker is a free, independent budgeting tool built for people in the UK who want to see where their money goes without handing a company their bank login. It runs in your browser, imports the CSV you download from your bank, and keeps your data on your device.
A month-by-month ledger for income and expenses. You import a bank CSV (or type entries in), drag transactions into categories, mark the recurring ones, and the app works out your surplus, savings rate, annual picture and goal dates. There is an optional sign-in if you want the same data on two devices. That is the whole product, on purpose.
It is built and maintained by a small independent team, not a bank, a fintech or a venture-funded start-up. There is no growth team optimising for time in app, and no product roadmap that depends on selling your data. Feedback goes straight to the people who write the code: use the contact form or email hello@theincometracker.com.
Right now, it is not. The core tracker is free and we intend to keep it free. If we ever add paid extras, they will be optional conveniences (for example automatic bank feeds for people who want them), never a paywall on your own data or on the basic ledger. We do not sell data, run adverts or take affiliate payments from the apps we compare ourselves with.
Bank export steps are checked against the bank’s own help pages and re-checked when readers report a change. Figures in guides (tax thresholds, allowances, official guidance) cite the primary source on the page and carry the date they were last checked. If something is out of date, tell us and we will fix it, usually within days.
On these content pages we count page views and a handful of anonymous events (a calculator was used, a template was downloaded) so we know what is useful. We never see what you type into a calculator or a ledger. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
