How to export your Barclaycard statement to CSV

By The Income Tracker ยท Updated 16 September 2026

In short

Log in to Barclays Online Banking on a computer, once your Barclaycard is linked to it (the Barclaycard site and app give PDF statements), open the account, pick a date range and export as CSV. Then import that file into The Income Tracker and track your money for free, with no bank login.

Export Barclaycard transactions as CSV

  1. If you also have a Barclays current account, add your Barclaycard to Barclays Online Banking. Barclaycard's help pages walk through linking the card.
  2. Log in to Barclays Online Banking on a computer, not the app. Select the Barclaycard and click Show recent transactions, then View all transactions.
  3. Pick a start and end date and click Search.
  4. Scroll to the bottom, click Export all and choose CSV (Excel).
  5. No Barclays current account? Log in at barclaycard.co.uk, open Statements, download the PDF for the month, then copy the transaction rows and paste them in.
  6. Business and corporate cards: in Barclaycard online servicing choose Reports, run the Custom General Transaction Report for your date range, and download the spreadsheet when it appears under Complete.
  7. Save the file and import it into The Income Tracker.

The Barclays app cannot export files, and Barclays' web export only covers recent months, while PDFs go back years. Card spending exports as positive numbers; the importer flips the signs automatically and lets you undo it.

Formats Barclaycard offers: CSV (Excel), OFX and QIF through Barclays Online Banking; PDF statements from Barclaycard directly. CSV is the cleanest import. OFX and QIF also import directly.

What happens after you import

Drop the file in and every transaction lands in a month-by-month ledger. Drag items into categories, flag the recurring ones, and watch your surplus update as you go. Money moved between your own accounts gets auto-skipped, so transfers never double-count. Duplicates are caught too, so importing overlapping date ranges is safe.

Barclaycard's own site and app only issue PDF statements. See how to import a PDF bank statement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export Barclaycard transactions to CSV for free?
Yes. Barclaycard lets you download your own transactions as a file at no cost from Barclays Online Banking on a computer, once your Barclaycard is linked to it (the Barclaycard site and app give PDF statements). You then import that file into a budgeting tool such as The Income Tracker.
Do I need to connect or log in to my bank to use The Income Tracker?
No. There is no open-banking connection and you never enter bank credentials into The Income Tracker. You download the file from Barclaycard yourself and drop it into the app, which runs entirely in your browser.
Is my Barclaycard data kept private?
Yes. The Income Tracker is local-first. Your imported transactions stay in your own browser and are never uploaded to a server, unless you choose to sign in to sync across devices.
Can I download a CSV from the Barclaycard app?
No. The Barclaycard app and website provide PDF statements. CSV export is only available through Barclays Online Banking on a computer, after the card is linked to a Barclays login, or through the corporate reporting portal for business cards.
Why do my Barclaycard purchases import as income?
Card exports often list purchases as positive amounts. The Income Tracker detects that pattern and flips the signs so purchases show as spending. If a file is flipped the wrong way, undo it in the review screen.
