How to export your Monzo Business statement to CSV

By The Income Tracker ยท Updated 16 September 2026

In short

Log in to the Monzo app, the same route as a personal account, open the account, pick a date range and export as CSV. Then import that file into The Income Tracker and track your money for free, with no bank login.

Export Monzo Business transactions as CSV

  1. Open the Monzo app and switch to your business account.
  2. Tap the three dots on the business card (or Manage), then Bank statements.
  3. Choose the month or set a custom date range.
  4. Pick CSV and generate the statement. Save it or share it to yourself.
  5. Optional, on Pro and Team plans: from Home, swipe down, tap Auto-export documents and connect Google Drive or OneDrive. Monzo places last month's statement in a Monzo Business folder on the 1st of each month, as PDF, CSV or QIF.
  6. Import the file into The Income Tracker.

Business CSVs end with a running Balance and Balance currency column, which the importer ignores. The Insights tab also offers an Export cash flow file, but that is category totals rather than transactions. Use Bank statements for a row-per-transaction file.

Formats Monzo Business offers: CSV, PDF and QIF; Pro and Team plans can auto-export a monthly statement to Google Drive or OneDrive. CSV is the cleanest import. OFX and QIF also import directly.

What happens after you import

Drop the file in and every transaction lands in a month-by-month ledger. Drag items into categories, flag the recurring ones, and watch your surplus update as you go. Money moved between your own accounts gets auto-skipped, so transfers never double-count. Duplicates are caught too, so importing overlapping date ranges is safe.

Only got a PDF? You can still import it. See how to import a PDF bank statement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export Monzo Business transactions to CSV for free?
Yes. Monzo Business lets you download your own transactions as a file at no cost from the Monzo app, the same route as a personal account. You then import that file into a budgeting tool such as The Income Tracker.
Do I need to connect or log in to my bank to use The Income Tracker?
No. There is no open-banking connection and you never enter bank credentials into The Income Tracker. You download the file from Monzo Business yourself and drop it into the app, which runs entirely in your browser.
Is my Monzo Business data kept private?
Yes. The Income Tracker is local-first. Your imported transactions stay in your own browser and are never uploaded to a server, unless you choose to sign in to sync across devices.
Can I keep Monzo Business separate from my personal spending?
Yes. Import the business CSV into its own ledger, or give the rows business categories that match the Self Assessment expense headings. The self-employed template on this site uses those headings.
Does the auto-export replace the manual download?
It can, on Pro and Team plans. The file lands in your cloud drive each month and you import it from there. Free business accounts use the manual Bank statements route.
